We do not receive your audio, transcripts, notes, history, snippets, rules, corrections, or prompts. Only if you choose a cloud AI provider does the relevant text go directly from your Mac to that provider, using your own API key or credentials. Audio is never sent. ## 1. Scope This Privacy Policy explains how Voicr, operated by Aleksandr Shelestov PR JustOneDev ("we", "our", or "us"), handles information when you use the Voicr macOS application (the "App"), visit voicr.pro (the "Website"), or contact us for support. This policy applies to Voicr Desktop 3.0 and later versions that use the same local-first architecture. ## 2. Who We Are We are the data controller for the limited Website and support information described below. What Stays on Your Mac Speech is transcribed on your Mac using a locally installed Whisper model or Apple's on-device Speech engine. Your microphone audio is not uploaded to us or to a cloud AI provider. Recordings, transcripts, notes, history, snippets, writing rules, corrections, preferences, and search data are stored locally on your Mac. We do not receive a copy and cannot view, recover, or delete this content for you. If you configure an AI engine, its API key or credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain. They are not sent to Voicr or JustOneDev. ## 4. When Text Can Leave Your Mac AI rewriting is optional. Apple Intelligence and Ollama process text locally. You can also use Voicr without any AI engine, in which case the App inserts the raw on-device transcript. If you deliberately configure and select a cloud AI provider, the App sends the text needed for the requested rewrite, together with your instruction, directly to that provider. The request uses the API key, credentials, endpoint, and settings you supply. It is not routed through a Voicr server, and we do not receive a copy. The cloud provider's terms, privacy policy, retention practices, security, location, and charges apply to that processing. Review them before sending personal, confidential, or regulated information. You can stop future cloud processing by switching to a local engine, removing the provider, or using Voicr without AI. ## 5. Other App Network Connections The App does not send your content to us. It makes only these product-related connections on its own: - A daily request for a static version file to check whether an update is available. - A speech-model download when you explicitly choose to download that model. Those services may receive ordinary technical request data, such as an IP address, user agent, requested file, and timestamp, as required to deliver and secure the file. These requests do not contain your audio, transcript, notes, or other App content. ## 6. Website and Support Data The Website has no registration, account, payment, or authentication flow. It uses Plausible Analytics for cookie-free aggregate traffic measurement and Google Fonts to deliver its typography. Our Website hosting and content-delivery providers, Plausible, and Google may process ordinary technical request data such as an IP address, browser type, requested page or file, referrer, and timestamp to deliver and protect the Website and understand aggregate usage. If you email us, we receive the address, message, attachments, and any other information you choose to provide. We use it to respond to your request and maintain support records. Please do not send App content unless it is necessary and you are comfortable sharing it. We use this limited information for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving, and supporting the Website and App, and where necessary to take steps you request or comply with law. We do not sell personal data, build advertising profiles, or use it for behavioural advertising. ## 7. Retention, Security, and Transfers App content remains on your Mac until you remove it using the App or macOS. Website logs, aggregate analytics, and support correspondence are retained only for as long as reasonably needed for delivery, security, support, record-keeping, and legal obligations. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. You are responsible for protecting your Mac, macOS account, Keychain, local backups, and any third-party credentials you configure. Website service providers and any cloud AI provider you choose may process data in other countries. Their documentation explains where they process data and which transfer safeguards they use. ## 8. Your Rights Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, port, or object to our processing of personal data. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection authority where you live. ## 9. Children Voicr is not directed to children below the minimum age required by applicable law. What Voicr Provides Voicr 3.0 is a free macOS utility for on-device dictation, voice notes, and text rewriting. It does not require registration and does not include a Voicr account, subscription, word limit, or cloud content service. Transcription runs on your Mac. AI rewriting is optional: you may use Apple Intelligence or Ollama locally, configure a supported cloud provider with your own credentials, or use no AI engine and insert the raw transcript. Voicr 3 requires macOS 14 or later and an Apple Silicon Mac. Individual engines and features may have additional system requirements. ## 3. Licence We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App for personal or professional purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer the App except where applicable law expressly permits it. You may not interfere with the App or Website, use them to violate law or another person's rights, or falsely represent that you are affiliated with Voicr. ## 4. Your Content and Responsibilities You retain ownership of your recordings, transcripts, notes, history, snippets, rules, corrections, prompts, and other content. We do not claim ownership of it and, while it remains on your Mac, we cannot access it. You are responsible for the content you record or process, for having any permissions or consents required to record speech or process another person's information, and for complying with applicable law and the rights of others. You must review transcription, translation, and AI output before using or sharing it. You are also responsible for securing your Mac, local backups, Keychain, and any API keys or credentials you add to the App. ## 5. Local and Cloud AI Engines Apple Intelligence and Ollama can process text locally. If you configure a cloud AI provider and request a rewrite, you authorise the App to send the relevant text and instruction directly to that provider using the API key, credentials, endpoint, and settings you supply. The request is not routed through our server, we do not receive a copy, and the App does not send microphone audio. Your use of Apple software, Ollama, speech models, cloud providers, or custom endpoints is also governed by their own terms, privacy policies, licences, availability, pricing, and usage restrictions. You are responsible for any provider account, permissions, usage, and charges. We do not control and are not responsible for a third party's output, outages, model changes, security, retention, or data practices. Review the provider's documents before processing personal, confidential, or regulated information. ## 6. Privacy The App has no Voicr content backend and does not send your audio or local content to us. Limited update checks, user-initiated model downloads, optional cloud-provider requests, Website traffic, and support communications are described in our [Privacy Policy](/privacy/), which forms part of these Terms. ## 7. Updates and Availability We may modify, update, replace, or discontinue the App, Website, compatibility, download, or features. Updates may be necessary for continued compatibility or security. We do not guarantee that the App, Website, a local model, operating-system feature, or third-party engine will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every Mac or application. ## 8. Disclaimer The App and Website are provided **"as is"** and **"as available"**, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. Transcription, translation, and AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, offensive, or unsuitable for your intended use. Voicr is a productivity tool, not professional advice. Do not rely on its output without appropriate human review in medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or other high-stakes contexts. ## 9. Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aleksandr Shelestov PR JustOneDev will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of content, data, profits, business, or opportunity arising from the App, Website, local software, or third-party services. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer rights that apply to you. ## 10. Governing Law These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in the Republic of Serbia have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections or rights to bring a claim elsewhere that apply where you live. ## 11. General If a provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a business transfer or reorganisation.
