The whole interaction is one shortcut. Highlight the text, press Option+Space, and a small picker opens in the centre of your screen — styled like macOS Spotlight, driven entirely by the keyboard. Choose a correction, and Voicr sends the selection to its AI, then pastes the improved version straight back over what you had. Same app, same field, no window switch.

Select the text
Highlight any text in any app — an email draft, a Slack message, a code comment, a document. Whatever you select is what Voicr will rewrite.

Press Option+Space
A small picker opens in the centre of your screen, Spotlight-style, listing every correction you have set up. Press it without a selection and nothing happens — there is nothing to fix.

Choose a correction
Arrow keys to move the highlight, Return to run it — or just click. Each correction is a preset you built: Fix Grammar, Make Formal, Make Concise, whatever you need.

Voicr rewrites it
Your selection and that correction's instruction go to Voicr's AI. The picker shows a processing state with a spinner while it works — and a Cancel button if you change your mind.

The text is replaced in place
The corrected version is pasted back over your selection, in the same app and the same field, instantly. The original is simply gone, replaced by its better version.

What is AI text correction in Voicr?

How is it different from dictation?
Dictation turns your voice into new text. Text correction works on text that already exists on screen — something you typed, were sent, or pasted — and rewrites it. Different jobs, one app, both included free.
Do I get corrections out of the box?
No, and that is deliberate. Voicr ships with no corrections built in. You create your own in the Corrections tab, each with a name and a plain-English prompt of up to 500 characters, so the picker only shows rewrites you use. You can edit, enable, disable, or delete them any time.
Can I change the Option+Space shortcut?
Not currently — Option+Space is the fixed trigger for the correction picker. Select your text first; pressing it with nothing selected simply does nothing.
Does it work in other languages?
Yes. Text correction works in 100 languages. Select text in any supported language, and you can write your correction prompts in whatever language you prefer.
Is my text private?
Your selection is sent to Voicr's backend only to be rewritten, then discarded — nothing is stored server-side. Voicr also saves and restores your clipboard around every operation, and your corrections are kept locally on your Mac.
