I think we should reconsider the timeline, because the current one doesn't give us enough buffer for testing.
AI text correction for Mac. Select, fix, done.
Highlight any text in any app, press Option+Space, and pick a fix. Voicr rewrites the selection with AI and drops it straight back in place — grammar, tone, length, translation. No copy-paste, no second window.
Polish text that's already on the screen.
Dictation turns your voice into text. AI text correction for Mac does the opposite job — it fixes text that already exists. Something you typed in a hurry, a message someone sent you, a paragraph you pasted from somewhere else. You select it, and Voicr rewrites it.
The whole interaction is one shortcut. Highlight the text, press Option+Space, and a small picker opens in the centre of your screen — styled like macOS Spotlight, driven entirely by the keyboard. Choose a correction, and Voicr sends the selection to its AI, then pastes the improved version straight back over what you had. Same app, same field, no window switch.
Because it works on a selection, it works everywhere there is an editable text field — Mail, Slack, a document, a browser form, a code comment. And because you never copy anything into ChatGPT and back, the text never leaves the place you were working. The correction happens in place, in seconds.
How AI text correction for Mac works
Five steps, one shortcut — and you never leave the app.
- 01
Select the text
Highlight any text in any app — an email draft, a Slack message, a code comment, a document. Whatever you select is what Voicr will rewrite.
- 02
Press Option+Space
A small picker opens in the centre of your screen, Spotlight-style, listing every correction you have set up. Press it without a selection and nothing happens — there is nothing to fix.
- 03
Choose a correction
Arrow keys to move the highlight, Return to run it — or just click. Each correction is a preset you built: Fix Grammar, Make Formal, Make Concise, whatever you need.
- 04
Voicr rewrites it
Your selection and that correction's instruction go to Voicr's AI. The picker shows a processing state with a spinner while it works — and a Cancel button if you change your mind.
- 05
The text is replaced in place
The corrected version is pasted back over your selection, in the same app and the same field, instantly. The original is simply gone, replaced by its better version.
One selection, any treatment
Same text, corrected three ways — you pick the rewrite you want in the moment.
“i think we should maybe reconsiders the timeline cause the current one dont give us enough buffer for testing”
I'd suggest we reconsider the timeline, as the current one doesn't allow sufficient buffer for testing.
We should reconsider the timeline — it leaves too little buffer for testing.
Corrections — presets you build yourself
Voicr ships with none. You create the corrections you actually use — each one a name and a plain-English instruction of up to 500 characters.
Fix Grammar
Fix grammar and spelling errors, keep the original meaning.
Make Formal
Rewrite in a formal, professional tone.
Make Concise
Make this shorter and clearer without losing meaning.
Friendly Tone
Rewrite in a warm, friendly, conversational tone.
Translate to English
Translate this into natural, fluent English.
Where AI text correction earns its place
Any text field, any language, one shortcut away.
Catch the typos in a draft
Select your email or message, run Fix Grammar, and send a clean version — without re-reading it three times first.
Clean up what others sent
Pasted a rambling brief or a message full of errors? Select it and rewrite it into something you can actually work with.
Formal for some, friendly for others
Write once, then re-tone for the audience — a casual Slack note becomes a formal email with a single correction.
Tidy comments and commit messages
Select a rushed code comment or commit message and have Voicr make it clear and concise, right inside your editor.
Correct and translate in place
Select text in any supported language and rewrite it into fluent English — or write a correction prompt that translates the other way.
Why Voicr's AI text correction
Corrects in place
The fixed text lands right back over your selection — same app, same field. No copy-paste into a separate AI window and back.
Works in every app
Anywhere with an editable text field — Mail, Slack, Notion, browsers, code editors, comments. If you can select it, Voicr can rewrite it.
Your own presets
Corrections are yours to define. The picker only ever shows the rewrites you actually use — nothing generic, nothing in the way.
Keyboard-driven
Option+Space to open, arrows to choose, Return to run, Esc to cancel. The whole flow works without touching the mouse.
Clipboard-safe and private
Voicr reads your selection through the macOS Accessibility API and saves and restores your clipboard around every paste. Text is discarded server-side after the rewrite.
Included on every plan
Text correction is on Free, Go, and Pro. Plans differ only in how many words you process each month — it starts free, no credit card.
AI text correction for Mac — FAQ
What is AI text correction in Voicr?
It is Voicr's text-correction feature. Select any text in any app, press Option+Space, and pick a correction — Voicr rewrites the selection with AI and pastes the result back in place. It fixes grammar, shifts tone, tightens length, or translates.
How is it different from dictation?
Dictation turns your voice into new text. Text correction works on text that already exists on screen — something you typed, were sent, or pasted — and rewrites it. Different jobs, one app, both included free.
Do I get corrections out of the box?
No, and that is deliberate. Voicr ships with no corrections built in. You create your own in the Corrections tab, each with a name and a plain-English prompt of up to 500 characters, so the picker only shows rewrites you use. You can edit, enable, disable, or delete them any time.
Can I change the Option+Space shortcut?
Not currently — Option+Space is the fixed trigger for the correction picker. Select your text first; pressing it with nothing selected simply does nothing.
Does it work in other languages?
Yes. Text correction works in 100 languages. Select text in any supported language, and you can write your correction prompts in whatever language you prefer.
Is my text private?
Your selection is sent to Voicr's backend only to be rewritten, then discarded — nothing is stored server-side. Voicr also saves and restores your clipboard around every operation, and your corrections are kept locally on your Mac.
